Ok, let me address these one by one.
-1: As of right now, we are surviving just fine with the textures that come with HL2. What can I say, they're great. Only for our easter eggs will we need custom textures.
-2: Nope
-3: Picture...lets say.....de_port for counter-strike:Source. Multiply that by 10 or maybe a bit more and thats somewhere around where we are looking at.
-4: Better believe it!
I make layouts on paper with instructions and I am always happy to sit down and instruct you and answer any questions you have.
** If your serious about being part of the team, I need to see some samples. If you are not confortable with a huge map, I could have you work on some deathmatch maps. Those are significantly smaller and easier to make. Not to mention you can kick those out so much faster than the large ones. The Ratio is like 5:1. OK, I am straying off topic, basically, let me see some samples, the team and I can see whats up and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Ok know im a mapper and do have expierience!
Making a map like de_port 10 times bigger is difficulte!
1. youl never get it that detailed as the origional! 2. fps will drop alot if you want it to look nice!
what kind of outdoor map?
does it have lots of houses or is it just a lot of land!
These things are Very importande for a mapper!
It would be good if you could make a drawring of the map you imagen!
have you got a page or just a forum? i would like to know what this mod is about so i can imagen how the maps should be made!
and at last how many people are you on the team?
are you new to modding or did you allready do a project?
sorry for the english
greatings y0da

How did you find this forum? From what I am aware of, the only way to find this forum is by going through Mod database, which has all the info for our mod. We dont have a website right now because we are focusing on the mod itself. Any news, updates, or pictures can be put on Mod DB so we are set. I have drawn out layouts for each map being made right now and have even posted them in the photo gallery for Dire's ModDB page. All your questions could be answered just by looking at the page. Incase you find this by a freak accident, heres the page: mods.moddb.com/2575/

There is no real difference between the platforms, only that the map can be tested faster on DM. There is no problem running it on HL2 platform.

Honestly, I feel that you have never heard of things such as knowing where to place certain brushes for VIS blocking, deleting back faces, knowing how to keep the polys low, scaling textures properly and when knowing which brushes to make into a func_wall or even how useful hint brushes can be. Please do not come into our forums and tell us what we can or cannot do with our mod. However, if you are wanting to join the team, please at least link us to some of your work so we may find out how much you think you may know about level designing or creating a mod in general. I don't even know why you asked if it was for HL2 or HL2:DM because it is the same thing, only DM is multiplayer. You do not need to remind any of our team how important things are to a level designer either. We know what is or is not. How long have you done level designing? What other mods have you been and how many have been completed? I hate to seem so hostile about this but, we're trying to be picky on who we hire for this mod. Show us some work and we shall go from there. You claim that you have made a few detailed maps just for fun... That doesn't sound too appealing to me.
P.S. Take a good look around de_port. The Half-Life 2 engine handles it just fine as well as mediocre PC's. This engine is very malleable. That map could have had a ton of more detail done to it and would hardly raise the FPS.
