Ok so the theme of this mod is to pretty much try to scare the pants off of someone right? Ok so to what theme should the maps be? Are they suppose to be post-apocalyptic, war-torn, or just plain creepy like ravenholm?
I'm asking this because I was interested in applying for a mapping job and I needed to know what kind of map I should make to showcase my work.

Good Question. Actually to help me explain this, let me tell you the true reason for the theme. The theme is not to merely scare someone, but it holds a higher purpose. See, the theme may have some errie tendencies but it isnt exactly something that would scare the pants off someone. It is actually the way it is to respresent the two things Dire stands for. First off is horror which is made clear when you first start to listen to it. The second portion is beauty, ambience. Dire is not only a horror mod, it is a lot more. To merely put it in the category of horror is kind of short handing it. I know the team hasnt explained mucbh about the actual single player gameplay aspect of the game, but I'll tell ya; if you go into it thinking it is just a plain horror mod, your going to be surprised.
On that note, the type of maps we are making for multiplayer vary a lot. It can be anything from a forest to a city.
For single player it is a bit different. We would need a huge attention to detail and someone that loves to make everything look the best possible. And with single player of course requires a knowledge of Triggers and NPC commands, etc.
Pretty much to sum up, I am sure your a bit confused, but to put it simply, Dire is Horror, yet beauty, and I dont just mean in the form of nice maps. It goes deeper than that. I would be able to explain more if you where in the mod, but as for now, I am keeping some of our biggest ideas a secret. The Storyline is one of them but that will be released shorty with the release of our new website.
What kind of maps do you specialize in?
